Tabernacle Presbyterian Church (PCA)

Particularization is the process through which a mission church in our denomination becomes a full-grown church.  In a mission church, the leadership is appointed, whereas in a particular church, the leadership is elected by the membership.  Having grown to the point of independence, receiving new members, and training its own its own leaders, our mission church in Staunton, Holy Cross Presbyterian Church, will soon be a new particular church in the Blue Ridge Presbytery.

In reaching this point, Holy Cross has established a membership, petitioned the Presbytery to make Holy Cross a particular church, nominated and elected a Session of Elders, and called a pastor.  This process is completed by a commission from the Presbytery gathering with the congregation to ordain and install the Elders and Pastor at a worship sevice to be held on October 16th, 6:30PM, at the church’s home in Grace Christian Middle School in Staunton.
