Christmas Eve Service

December 23rd, 2012 by admin

Join us at 7PM Monday evening for a service of Lessons & Carols.

The Christmas Eve Service of Lessons and Carols is an order of worship which Christians have used since 1880, when the Bishop of Truro in Cornwall, England organized a 10 PM service on Christmas Eve in a temporary wooden shed. The liturgy has since been used around the world, most notably at King’s College in Cambridge, England. The Lessons and Carols Service at King’s College has been broadcast every year since 1931, even in the extreme cold of the cathedral during World War II when the stained glass was removed for preservation amid the very real threat of bombing.
